Reasons Why Interracial Relationships are Good!!!

A look back into the pre 1967 era would tell you why it was considered a crime to date a person outside your race. However, the United States eventually became a better place to live in, thanks to the Historic verdict of 1967 that made Interracial Marriages legal in the country. The entire country rejoiced and that marked the beginning of a new era in the history of the country.

According to recent statistics, around 6.3 percent of all marriages were between spouses of different races; which is a steep rise from 1% reported in 1970. This is certainly a positive trend that is likely to continue in the years to come. According to the analysis conducted by the Pew Research Center in 2013, American Indians were more likely to wed outside their race compared to other ethnic groups such as White, Black and Asians.

What makes Interracial Relationship so amazing that a lot of people are inclined towards it? Read on to find out:

  • It is a learning experience: Dating a person from a race different to yours, gives you the opportunity to learn something new every single day of your post – marriage life. You get to know about your partner’s lifestyle, traditions, cultures, food and everything else about his/her likes and dislikes. Furthermore, this is an amazing way to break the stereotypes and getting to know the person as an individual.
  • You’d have mixed kids: Children born to mixed parents are adorable, aren’t they? This is one of the many reasons why people prefer interracial relationships to getting married to a person of the same race. Not only do these get the best in terms of physical traits but also other characteristics that decide the fate of future generations.
  • You see the world from a different perspective: Even if your partner was the guy next door, he would have experienced the world from a very different perspective, owing to his racial background. The United States of America was never known to be a friendly place for the black population and if you’re dating a black person, things would certainly be very different.
  • You’re with someone you not only love but also truly respect: It makes no sense to get hitched with a person just because he belongs to the same race as you do. The Americans have opened up to Interracial Dating primarily because it gives them the opportunity to have more options thereby giving them the liberty to find a match based on personality traits rather than race or ethnic background.

Indeed, Interracial Relationships are good and by getting into one you’re making the world a better place.

We Met in Atlanta 5 years ago

Nick and I met in Atlanta 5 years ago.we were always meant to be together. We got engaged last week.

We met several years ago as severs The time wasn’t right, but seeds were planted. Life sent us in different directions, we matured and followed our own career paths and life offered us a second chance. We went from being acquaintances to falling in love. From long distance to living together. We sought Christ and conquered obstacles. We made a life plan together and began to put it into action. Blessings poured out so we are engaged now. In a new tax bracket, looking to be homeowners, and happily married with children in the near future.

Race removed, God didn’t create “winners” or “losers” he created CHOOSERS. Nick and I both individually choose to build a relationship with one another and I am just grateful for that type of dedication from a partner.

We are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together as One!

Tavaras and I had met while we were in college. I was attending post secondary at a community college where he had been accepted to play football. Me being the football but I am I clicked well with some of the football team that I had attended classes with. I went to the football games to show my support. After the games I would go out to eat and hang out with some of the team.

After graduation I had joined the military and didn’t go back to college. That next year even though I didn’t attend school, Tavaras had remembered me from the football parties and added me on Facebook. We started catching up over Facebook chat and agreed to catch up in person. We started hanging out and just had amazing chemistry. We continued hanging out every day and every night. I would literally go to work and go back to his house. We continued this for 3 months until our paths separated. I went to annual training and he went back home to Kentucky. He stayed there and I continued life in Minnesota. We stopped talking but, remained friends on Facebook and I found myself checking in on him to see if he was well.

After 2.5 years and failed relationships for both of us I finally got the courage to message him and let him know I never stopped caring about him! He replied. Tavaras told me he had told his cousin a few days prior he was going to remain single until he was 40 unless I came back into his life and that he never stopped caring about me either.
I was so happy I started crying and right then and there we declared we were each others. I decided that next week I was driving down to Kentucky to rekindle everything with him. As soon as I saw him my heart melted and it was like we never were away from each other.

I now drive down to Kentucky every other week to see him. We are looking at places for us to move in together when I move down there July of this year.

We are extremely grateful that our separate life paths that had once crossed have now joined as one!
We are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together as one!

Tavaras & Autumn’s fairytale!
