Why are Interracial Relationships on the Rise?

Interracial Relationships are on a steady rise. It’s been less than 50 years since blacks and whites have been able to legally marry. In 1987, that only 13% of Americans completely agreed that interracial dating was acceptable, that share grew to 56% in 2009. Young people are said they’d be OK with a family member marrying someone of another race or ethnicity.

“Symbolic communication influences human thought, affect, and action,” psychologist Albert Bandura

The trend of interracial dating has been on the rise since the late 1960, when the US federal government scrapped the regulation, which regarded Interracial Marriages illegal. There are a lot Interracial Relationships Blogs and Interracial Marriage Articles written on why dating a person of another race beneficial.

The percentage of black American women in interracial marriage has increased over the years cause years ago it was 9% of black American/African American women marrying outside their race but now it has increased to 12% now, which I think will steadily increase and has to do with the fact that the new generation of African American women are rebelling against the social stigmas of Interracial marriage when it comes to Black women in America and how they are marrying out due to less educated and successful men in their community to find(since their are more educated black women then Black men in America). However the percentage for African American men is on a stand still, it hasn’t increased at all but maybe if non-married African American men were included in this study there would have been a jump in those numbers.

  • Absolute Rise” in Interracial Relationships
  • Racial / Ethnic Groups Intermarry the Most
  • United States Has the Highest Rate of InterMarriage
  • The more visible high-profile interracial couples are, the more normalized they become.
  • Knowing interracial couples can be an antidote to personal prejudice.
  • Mixed-race couples can be models for appreciative, respectful relationships.
  • Interracial dating is ushering in a more multiracial future.

The concept of Interracial Dating and Marriages has further been popularized by the inception of dedicated interracial dating websites such as the likes of interracialmatch.com and interracialdatingcentral.com, among others.

If you’re new to the idea of dating outside your race, we suggest exploring this segment prior to getting hitched. To know more on why interracial dating is amazing, you may check out this blog Interracial Dating Sites

Interracial dating is on the rise, but it hasn’t ended racism. that while users claim to be open-minded, racial background makes a difference for matching. And not all races approach interracial dating in the same way.

We (Ian and Ricki Smith’s) Love Seeing Interracial Relationships!!

So we ( Ian and Ricki ) met on tinder we started talking about random stuff. I remember everything we talked about. But the first thing we started talking about was vegan chili. He was making that night we started talking. We talked until he had to go to sleep. He had work the next morning. He wanted to meet up with me. So I told hi. I was babysitting that day, so he came to the house and he bought chick fila. The first time I saw him i darted jumping up and down. He was sooo good looking! Lol so we talked and everything and it went from there.

Everyday he would pick me up from my house. Our first date was Olive Garden. 😄 It was sooo fun! He told me he fell in love with me whenever we were on the beach. He said he knew then that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I started crying. I told him I knew I loved I loved him 2 dates after the beach date.

When we were at his house watching movies. Lol. So one night we was walking and talking kids and marriage. He started talking about our future and stuff. I was looking around to make sure novene was trying to harm us. Whenever I turned around he was on his knee and he asked me. I started screaming so loud! I started jumping up and down. And I hit him on his mouth by accident.

We Met in Atlanta 5 years ago

Nick and I met in Atlanta 5 years ago.we were always meant to be together. We got engaged last week.

We met several years ago as severs The time wasn’t right, but seeds were planted. Life sent us in different directions, we matured and followed our own career paths and life offered us a second chance. We went from being acquaintances to falling in love. From long distance to living together. We sought Christ and conquered obstacles. We made a life plan together and began to put it into action. Blessings poured out so we are engaged now. In a new tax bracket, looking to be homeowners, and happily married with children in the near future.

Race removed, God didn’t create “winners” or “losers” he created CHOOSERS. Nick and I both individually choose to build a relationship with one another and I am just grateful for that type of dedication from a partner.

That Night We Fell in Love with Each Other!

Shayne and I met one night in Downtown Savannah, we bumped into each other, literally! A “sorry excuse me” turned into all night conversation, and that all night conversation turned into us being inseparable since that night. About a week later we had a date at the beach, where we had deep conversations about love, and life.

That night we fell in love with each other! The first night we bumped into each other was June 25th! 😉 We got engaged 2 months later, and our wedding day is February 25th, 2017. 5 months after our engagement he was deployed.  He’s in army. He is set to come back, 10 days before the wedding. Even though we are apart, or love grows everyday! Color didn’t stop our love, and neither will distance!

We met June 25th, 2016, became an official couple on July 1st, and got engaged September 3rd.

Thanks

Ashleigh Johnson
